Janet LeMoal, LCSW, CASAC-2, is a licensed clinical social worker and a credentialed alcoholism and substance abuse counselor with extensive experience working with diverse populations. Janet has both personal and professional experience with the Queer Community and emphasizes person-centered therapy. Janet facilitates individuals' pursuit of a more authentic life by fostering an understanding of their identity and the impact of their background. Janet is proficient in helping individuals identify and refine their existing abilities while acquiring new skills to progress toward their goals and objectives. Janet has a diverse and eclectic array of treatment strategies and believes therapy is a collaborative endeavor.

Since earning her MSW from Hunter College School of Social Work in 2008, Janet has held a variety of roles across academic, medical, and community settings. She began as an instructor in the Sociology Department at Wagner College, where she taught a course on addiction. Janet then worked with Queer homeless and runaway youth at the Ali Forney Center before joining the Institute for Family Health’s homeless medical teams, delivering integrated medical and mental health services to churches, soup kitchens, and community centers. While at the Institute, she served on the LGBTQIA+ Committee, helping advance inclusion by updating intake forms and coordinating staff training. Following her time there, Janet provided mental health and addiction services at the HIV/AIDS Clinic at Brooklyn Hospital and at the Sexual Health Clinics of New York City. Most recently, she has worked in community mental health, supporting individuals living with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and depression.
