More about me
Years in Practice: 16
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both Virginia and North Carolina with 16 years of experience. I graduated with my Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and my Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Rutgers University. I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I believe people have the capacity to grow, change, and adapt. My treatment methods are based on the individual needs of each person and I incorporate a variety of therapeutic modalities, including solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral, and experiential. I have many clinical interests and am comfortable working with a diverse client population.
I am a firm believer in “thinking outside the box” and my style is to look at the whole picture, and I will work with you to figure out solutions that you feel are effective and manageable. I value what has happened in your past, but will guide you to stay in the present so that you may reach your greatest potential for the future. I also value the importance of trying to achieve life balance, and will encourage a holistic approach through proper nutrition, sleep, and exercise. There is no quick fix, especially in the psychotherapy process, but if you are willing to do the work, you can achieve a productive, happy, and healthy life.
I look forward to working with you on this journey!
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $35 to $80 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
