Working with Denise for over a year now, she has helped me see things about myself that I need to change to build healthier relationships while also reminding me of how far I’ve come and always encouraging me to see the positive instead of just what needs to change. She is very balanced in her approach to therapy. And I’m so glad I’ve been working with her this past year as I work on my life. And relationships. She’s made such a difference!

More about me
Hello and thank you for stopping by to get to know me. My name Is Denise Davis and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I have 15 years of counseling experience. I have always known that I wanted to be a therapist because I love to help people reach their goals, and beyond! My role as your therapist is to help you find your way and to stand beside you through your journey. Whether you are dealing with depression, anxiety, abuse or any other problem, there can be a happy ending to your story. Or as I like to say, a new beginning of great things to come your way!
I attended Indiana Wesleyan University for my Master’s Degree and my major was Community Counseling. I attended Ball State University for my Bachelor’s Degree and my major was Social Work with a minor in Psychology. Throughout my years of experience, I have used several types of therapy approaches but the 2 that I like the best are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). When it is all said and done it might appear more eclectic where I may bring in other approaches depending on the situation, but CBT and DBT tend to work with most situations and I have seen the most success with these therapeutic styles.
My specialties include women’s issues, mood disorders, relationship issues and substance abuse. Most of my experience has been with adults, which is the area I feel most comfortable and that I can do my best work. I have worked in several different therapeutic environments including Community Mental Health, Correctional Facilities and some government programs. My greatest strength is listening. I will not be able to help you if I don’t really listen to what you are saying. When we have a session, whether it is live, texting, email, etc., that is your time. You will have my undivided attention because I am here for you! I want you to feel comfortable and I want you to know without a doubt that I care! I want to commend you for taking the first step of seeking out a therapist. This is typically the hardest part of counseling and you have finished that step! Congratulations!
I hope to hear from you soon!

About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $35 to $80 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
