More about me
I am an Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia, with over ten years experience helping individuals through counseling and therapy. I specialize in the areas of: mental health, trauma, marital/relationship issues, depression, anxiety, anger management , PTSD, substance use and ADHD. I also have experience working with wide variety of concerns which also include adjusting to life changes (careers, relationships, parenting and life changes/transitions). My goal is to provide the best possible support, guidance and clinical intervention to enhance the lives of each individual and family I serve.
My counseling style is welcoming, warm, interactive, relaxed and non-judgmental. I believe in equality and treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I believe laughter is the best medicine and incorporate humor into therapy when appropriate. My therapeutic approach combines person centered approach, cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic therapy, however I am also very eclectic in approach as I may need to adjust my therapeutic style to meet each individuals specific needs. My live availability is listed on my calendar, however I have flexibility to schedule with you outside of the slots set in the schedule.
It takes strength and courage to get here, and I look forward to the opportunity to help you make changes, meet your goals, and begin the healing process.
Carrying heavy bags can be tiring, lets sit down and unpack.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $35 to $80 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
