More about me
Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) licensed in the state of Virginia and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) certified by the International Association of Trauma Professionals. I also hold a Graduated Certificate from Liberty University in Pastoral Counseling.
My counseling experience includes working with individuals who have experienced a variety of reasons for seeking help to include but not limited to trauma, grief/loss, substance abuse, self-worth/self-esteem issues, stress management, relationship challenges, symptom management, spiritual conflicts, effective/assertive communication, depression and anxiety. Additionally, I have facilitated support and counseling groups for the geriatric population and their adult caregivers.
By offering Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused-Brief Therapy (SFBT), I am able to walk side by side with individuals seeking healing and wellness. Walking side by side means providing a safe environment for you to speak freely while I listen, ask questions, provide feedback and challenge thoughts that may reveal "stuck points", thereby empowering you to make positive change while meeting your treatment goals. I look forward to working with you whether you are seeking Christian counseling or non-faith based counseling.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $35 to $80 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
