More about me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia; with over 15 years of experience helping individuals. I have worked with adults, families, and children. I have experience with a wide variety of concerns such as serious mental health issues, trauma, marital/relationship issues, depression, anxiety, anger management, and grief and loss. I have worked with individuals with a variety of diagnoses (Bipolar Disorder, ADHD, and PTSD to name a few). Other areas of concern include : adjusting to life changes (careers, relationships, parenting and life changes/transitions). My goal is to provide the best possible support, guidance and clinical intervention to enhance the lives of each individual and family I serve.
My counseling style is welcoming, interactive, relaxed and non-judgmental. I believe in equality and treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I believe in honesty and not focusing on stigmatizing labels. My therapeutic approach is personalized to you as I am eclectic in my approach. I combine person centered approach, cognitive-behavioral and solution focused therapy. My live availability is listed on my calendar, however I have flexibility to schedule with you outside of the slots set in the schedule.
It takes strength and courage to get here, and I look forward to the opportunity to assist you in reaching your goals, helping you make changes and begin your healing process.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $35 to $80 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
