Hello! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia and Texas with nearly a decade of experience providing individual counseling, largely to the young adult population. My clients work with me to address an array of concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, gender and sexual identity, grief, adjustment difficulties, and other challenges common to emerging adulthood.
People seek counseling during times of difficulty; developing a warm, empowering therapeutic relationship allows people to discover that the courage they need to thrive has been within them all along. By fostering a positive connection, I help my clients gain a deeper understanding of themselves so they can feel stronger because of their experiences.
While I tailor my approach to meet an individual client’s needs, I typically work from a feminist, person-centered perspective utilizing interpersonal process work. Being authentic with my clients allows me to psychoeducate and meet them on an equal level. In my experience, providing resources and creating a genuine relationship allows clients to feel empowered and ready to create and sustain positive and fulfilling relationships with both self and others.
When you work with me, you can expect prompt responses, as well as various additional resources (books, TED talks, podcasts) that can help you better understand your concerns. Wisdom is all around us, if we're listening.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $35 to $80 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
