More about me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 8+ years of experience in both the psychiatric hospital and private practice settings. My master's degree is from the University of South Carolina, and I am trained in psychotherapy modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I work primarily with adults and couples who present a wide range of concerns to include but are not limited to depression and anxiety, trauma, career, self-esteem, and relationship issues.
I believe therapy is a practice by which a person is able to elicit assistance, for any set of struggles, by an unbiased, non-judgmental, empowering professional in a safe environment. Each person being served is unique and thus so are their goals and interventions. Through active listening, I strive to support each client in identifying current areas of concern, collaborating with them to promote independence and self-reliance, and increasing their ability to overcome obstacles holding them back from being all they were designed to be.
Everyone can benefit from therapy, but it takes courage to take the first step. I applaud your decision to embark on this new journey in your life, and I would very much enjoy working with you to achieve your fullest potential!
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $35 to $80 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
