More about me
Hello, my name is Sherry and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have 20 years of experience in the behavioral healthcare field. I believe in providing goal-directed treatment. I take a collaborative and supportive stance in my approach to therapy and my patients tell me that I am comfortable to be with and easy to talk to. I specialize in helping adults suffering from depression, anxiety, grief and/or loss, trauma, anger management, stress management, and relationship issues.
In therapy, I primarily will use Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy treatment modalities. I also use mindfulness techniques such as self relaxation, self meditation, and deep breathing to help with anxiety.
I am a compassionate therapist who is dedicated to helping my clients reach their goals. I would like the two of us to work as a team to reach your therapuetic goals. I know it can be difficult to reach out for help however I hope to decrease some of your fears. I believe we all have the strength inside to overcome our problems with support and guidance. I am here to assist you in developing strategies and/or coping skills that will help you through current and past challenges.
I look forward to working with you. Again, welcome and I promise to provide you with the best of care.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $35 to $80 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
