More about me
Hi! My name is Rachel. I’m a licensed professional counselor in Virginia. I enjoy listening to others and helping them find a way through challenging times. I have 12 years of experience working in mental health providing individual counseling and group work. I have worked with individuals ages five to adult. With my broad range of experiences, I am comfortable assisting with a broad spectrum of clinical issues. Areas I am exceptionally well-versed in include: anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, grief, stress management, addiction, co-occurring disorders, anger management, family conflict, and adjustment issues.
I believe that having a trusting, therapeutic relationship is key to having an overall positive experience in therapy. My counseling approach is warm, yet direct. I believe in focusing on one’s strengths to guide them through the challenges in their lives. I use a person-centered approach commonly with solution focused therapy. Cognitive behavioral therapy is apparent throughout my sessions as I try to help you connect your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
I’m glad you have taken this step to make a healthier you. I look forward to working with with you!
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $35 to $80 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
