It takes a lot of courage to reach out for support and take the next steps to to getting the life you want. I am excited to work with you in taking those steps and empowering you in that journey. Here is a little bit of information about my experience, education and style to help you make the best choice when seeking a counselor:
I received my masters degree from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia who has been working in the mental health field for over 5 years. I have worked with a wide range of concerns over the years including: depression, anxiety, mood disorders, anger management, oppositional defiant disorder, ADHD, relationship conflicts, grief, trauma, and low self esteem.
My counseling style is interactive, empowering, and genuine. I believe in creating an environment and relationship that you feel safe and supported. I primarily work from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, and Dialetical Behavioral Therapy approach which means I believe that each client has in the innate ability to know their own needs and I will help facilitate those needs through both talk therapy and action based therapeutic strategies. I really like to work with each client to tailor my sessions to your individual needs and help you achieve personal growth through concrete strategies and tools. Whatever has brought you to this place, I believe that we can work together to address these concerns with an individualized and creative solution.
I look forward to working with you!
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $35 to $80 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
