More about me
Licensing:
Ph.D, LPC, LMFT
Years in Practice:
18
I am dually licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Virginia. I have worked in the counseling field for the past 18 years. Therefore, I am skilled in a variety of therapeutic approaches to assist clientele with achieving their personal goals. I provide outpatient counseling for those struggling with various mental health issues (i.e. Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, etc.), behavioral problems, survivors of domestic violence/sexual abuse/rape, grief and loss, self-esteem, marital/couple’s counseling, parenting, and divorce mediation.
One of my favorite quotes is: "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away." To me, life is a journey. There will be many bumps, bruises, and obstacles along the way. That's okay. It's how you overcome those hurdles that count. Some need more assistance than others on this journey, and that's okay too. My approach is to promote healing and personal growth and development along this journey called life. I do not claim to have all of the answers. I believe that everyone is the expert of their own lives. My role is to assist you with getting out of your own way and discovering the path that you want to follow.
I look forward to working with you!
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $35 to $80 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
