More about me
Years in Practice: 7
I am a (licensed) professional counselor in the state of Virginia with over eight years of experience working in the school, community, and private practice settings with teens and families. I have worked with clients who report various concerns, including anxiety, depression, anger, ADHD, social/familial concerns, or recent loss. I specialize in person-centered and strengths-based approaches to therapy. I enjoy inviting expressive arts, creativity, mindfulness, movement, and narrative techniques into the process, and I am working toward a doctoral degree in Mind-Body Medicine (with a Specialization in Integrative Mental Health) at Saybrook University. My research interests include a blend of spirituality, creativity, and nature within the mental healthcare profession. I have completed a host of courses in play therapy, mindfulness, guided imagery, art, hypnosis, nutrition/wellness, and movement.
I am hopeful that what you are encountering, whether it is a mental, emotional, physical, or spiritual stressor, that you can develop and apply healthier, productive tools and strategies to assist with navigating these obstacles long after. You took the first step; let's take the second step together.
I am excited to work with you!
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $35 to $80 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
