I just started with BetterHelp a little over a month ago after a recommendation from a friend. I was matched with Nina and it was an instant connection. Nina creates a very comfortable and safe space to openly talk without hesitation. I look forward to my weekly sessions and can’t wait to catch up and open new doors of conversation. I’m so happy (and proud!) that I took the steps I did to land myself with such a wonderful therapist. I can’t wait to see what the future holds <3

More about me
Licensing: LCSW Years in Practice: 20 State: California
Welcome!
I am an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Wisconsin) with 20 years direct practice experience in a variety of settings. These include; residential, in-home therapy, emergency services, foster care, adoption, and outpatient therapy. I worked as a lecturer and advisor in the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Social Work Program for six years. I also volunteer as a Disaster Mental Health worker for the Red Cross.
My specialties include helping people with depression, anxiety, family challenges, self-esteem, life changes, compassion fatigue, and anger management. My theoretical perspectives/interventions include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Expressive/Creative Modalities.
My approach to therapy is to create an open, warm, and inclusive environment. I believe it is important to work collaboratively and practice flexibility tailoring interventions to individual needs. I strive to provide support while identifying strengths. My goal is to discover potential, foster growth, and achieve a sense of wellness.
I look forward to meeting and working with you as we begin this journey!
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $60 to $90 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
