Hello! My name is Sarah May and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, licensed in the State of Virginia. Prior to completing graduated school and becoming a licensed Counselor, I provided services in the Mental Health/Behavioral Health Services industry for 17 years. Over the past 17 years, I have gained experience in several different fields of counseling. I do have an eclectic approach to therapy, but the primary theory that I draw experience and motivation with is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Trauma Informed Care. I am aware that each person seeking Counseling services is unique and I am open and ready to assist through individualized, person centered services to ensure those seeking services are invested and involved in services! I am here to listen and provide support for you. I have been privileged to provide services to adolescents and adults with a variety of presenting problems such as depression, anxiety, anger, trauma, phase of life changes, relationship issues, and many more.
I am available and looking forward to hearing from you!
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
