More about me
Years in Practice: 7
Welcome! I am glad to see that you are taking the first step in finding someone to support you through life’s challenges. This is not easy and can be overwhelming, but it shows that you are willing to start meeting your goals. Here is a bit more about me:
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia with over 6 years of experience working with a range of clients. I have worked with clients with a wide aray of concerns including depression, anxiety, parenting problems, career challenges, and self-esteem. I have worked in a wide range of settings from inpatient to outpatient. These experiences have taught me to meet people where they are in their daily lives and to actively work to be non-judgmental in my approach.
My approach to counseling is to help you to identify strengths and create solutions together to quickly find things that work for you. I want you to feel comfortable working with me, as this is one of the things I have found most beneficial in therapy, if our relationship doesn’t work, we can work to find you someone who does fit with you. I try to use humor in all of my sessions and honesty to bring meet you in the moment during each session.
For the first few sessions I would like to get to know you a bit better and from there we can make goals. I look forward to chatting with you soon!
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $35 to $80 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
