More about me
Welcome to Betterhelp.com. We are glad you’re here. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Florida and Virginia. I have worked with teens, adults and families in a professional capacity since 2006. I enjoy working with a diverse range of clients and have a style that has been described as: “approachable compassion”. I have experience working with teens and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and relationship issues. I operate from a Solution-Focused Cognitive Behavioral and Adlerian Psychology standpoint. I recognize that we all suffer from the human condition and as a result of that- are all really striving to belong. There is no place you should “belong” more than within the relationship with your therapist. I will always approach treatment and goal setting as a team. I believe some core values of my therapeutic approach are- to encourage clients to be the best version of themselves, to challenge patterns that no longer serve us and to work as a team to accomplish this. In 2016, I became an accredited Positive Parenting Program provider due to my own families struggles raising our son with Autism. Because of these struggles, I now have a unique and evidence-based perspective on parenting issues. Parenting is NOT for the faint of heart and I truly enjoy working with parents in an encouraging and non-judgmental way.
I do not believe our therapeutic journey ends with graduate school; therefore I can often be found reading a new publication, research study or trying on a new evidence-based strategy. If I am challenging my clients to be the best version of themselves, I strive to do the same. Please message me as my availability may extend outside the hours listed. I look forward to working together!
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $35 to $80 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
