More about me
Hi, my name is Karen Hobbs and I live in Northern Virginia. I am more than just a therapist as I am also a wife and mother to two beautiful girls. I know the challenges of working fulltime and meeting the demands of home. I have over twenty-five years of experience working as a Clinical Director, Supervisor, and Licensed Professional Counselor. With over 25 years of experience as a professional counselor, and as a graduate of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, and as a graduate of Marymount University specializing in Psychological Services/Counseling. I am currently owner and clinical director at Renewing Hearts Family Counseling in Prince William County Virginia. As a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients my areas of expertise are trauma, crisis, abusive behaviors, life issues, mood disorders and codependency.
I am an interactive, solution-focused therapist. My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $35 to $80 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
