More about David

I would be happy to help you move forward in your life. I have over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. I have a M.A. in Counseling and also a Master of Divinity degree, but I never superimpose my beliefs or convictions on anyone else, because that is not ethical. My aim is to help individuals and couples move forward in life in a consistent manner with their particular goals and values and convictions. As for experience, I have the least experience working with LGBTQ clients. For licensure I have the LPC, and for certification I have the CADC. As such, I am able to help individuals with issues of depression, severe anxiety, major life changes and losses, substance abuse issues, relationship issues, learning to be assertive and to have boundaries, closure for trauma and abuse, and helping individuals create a strategy for finding an ideal career. I draw on several different treatment approaches, but my foundation is the Cognitive-Behavioral approach, because it is proven that guarding the thoughts, avoiding assumptions, and learning to pause and reflect rather than just reacting is what helps people the most to be at peace with themselves, and to better handle the stressors that life throws at us. I look forward to working with you.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

It is important and for sure God´s guidance, that David Sullivan was chosen to be my counselor. He is a Christian with the Word of God as a foundation in a very authentic and honest way. I can learn from him .. and it gives me hope. Added to it he can use ressource like deep expertise and experience, which seems to be at one side from his work and the other side also from his personal life - this is my impression. Also he seems to understand my goals and interests in a special way. He empowers me to go after them, and seems to have good ideas .. a speciality, which I appreciate from American people. I am coming from a country, where people mostly are not used to be very clear and on point, so it is a support for me, that David is exactly this: clear and on point regarding my life circumstances and my next steps. At this point of my life, David is the right person - it is for sure God´s guidance, that I met him. This platform makes it possible, that I can a counselor from so far away. Tankyou.

Reviewed August 2021

David Sullivan comes to the counseling session with great experience, wisdom and insight. He helped me to identify my own personal core values, personality type, and love language. He then used that information to help me understand why I react to various situations the way I do, and he helped me to see how my core values and personal beliefs shape how I view life and see the world. He has helped me navigate through past trauma and my own limiting beliefs. I have learned how to set healthy boundaries, personal goals that serve me well and to see myself through the eyes of love, respect and appreciation.

Reviewed August 2021

I could not be happier with the experience and expertise Mr. Sullivan has displayed during our phone calls/video calls. He listened to the issues at hand and gave me sound advice and also many assignments that have been helping me with my anxiety due to issues in my work place. I highly recommend him if anyone is in need of a very strong Kindom Minded counselor or just a very strong counselor who will help you and provide invaluable feedback and tips. Thank you!
