More about me
Hi there! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Virginia with over 8 years of experience with children, teens, and adults. I have worked with individuals with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, ADHD, learning disabilities, bipolar disorder, trauma, grief and loss, parenting problems, and parents of children with special needs. My main area of expertise and passion is helping individuals who have experienced past trauma, including physical and emotional abuse.
In addition, my work in school settings has given me expertise in working with parents of children with special needs including, ADHD, Autism, anxiety, and emotional disabilities. As the world faces a pandemic and schools continue to close, parents are having to adjust to many changes. I would love to support you in helping to manage your child’s unique needs and develop a plan for self-care. In addition to parents, many others are facing a lot of challenges around maintaining mental wellness during these unprecedented times. It is important to have healthy coping skills and support available to you more than ever.
My counseling style is supportive and interactive. I believe in treating everyone holistically and with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. Depending on your needs and preferred approach, I will incorporate a variety of traditional therapy techniques such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused therapy, Positive Behavior Interventions, and Trauma Informed Care. I also have a passion for Mindfulness in my work with individuals facing a variety of needs. With that being said, I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I believe that just having someone to just talk to, who will listen without judgment, can be incredibly helpful to anyone no matter what brought you into counseling and that it something above all that I can promise you.
It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life. I am ready to support you through the process if you think I am a good fit for you.
I look forward to working with you!
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $35 to $80 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
