Dawn helped me tremendously during a very dark time in my life. I was honestly so nervous about getting help because I was ashamed of my struggles but she was so non judgmental. You can feel her warmth and kindness even over the video chat. She is an excellent listener with thought provoking questions and helped me work on the coping skills I needed. I would recommend her to others happily.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University in 1996. I earned my Masters in Education in Counseling from Texas Southern University in 2005. I have an extensive amount of work with families involved in foster care and possess 18 years of experience providing case management, therapy, and crisis intervention services. After working with children and families involved in the Department of Family and Children Services in the Metro Atlanta area for 10 years; I relocated back to my home state of Texas to continue my work to assist and facilitate healing and harmony in one life at a time. My scope of practice includes working with Family Units and Children & Adolescents; in individual, family, and couples sessions. I have experience with Community-Based Services as well as Private Practice. My treatment style is stirred from Person-Centered, Family Systems, CBT, Solution Focus; also quite a bit of Trauma-Informed Therapy as I have served as a Crisis Counselor for many years. I focus on being a good listener, empathetic, supportive, mindful and nonjudgmental. I look forward to doing the work with you to assist in finding the solutions you seek.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Dawn is simply amazing! Since our first session I have felt comfortable and like I was being heard for the first time. Dawn gave amazing advice that lead to a considerable amount of positivity in my every day life and in my relationships, as well. She is always willing to help, dives further into your thoughts and emotions to help you process the root of the problem, and offers ways to cope or undertake the object at hand. I cannot thank Dawn enough for her lessons and encouragement.
