I appreciate the ability to message whenever I need to. Sharon always responds and helps me to feel grounded and focused on my needs, which had never been a priority before. She responds emphatically and validates my feelings as well as helping me to validate them myself.

Greetings! I am so glad that, as you consider counseling, you clicked on my profile. You see, I have a passion for creating a safe, interpersonal space where clients can share, explore and experience whatever life throws at them, eventually moving towards healing, growth, and wholeness. I am truly interested in getting to know you; discovering and clarifying your goals for counseling; and collaborating with you to heal hurts, reveal strengths, and find a more meaningful life. In general, I adapt my approach with clients to fit their needs, as determined by who they are as people, what resonates with them, and what they wish to achieve in counseling.
I have worked with male and female clients both individually and as couples. My clients have been of varying ages, sexual orientations, and religious backgrounds. I have also facilitated a number of groups, including Daring Way™ groups, grief groups, career-in-transition groups, and clericus groups. (The Daring Way™ is based on the work of Brene Brown, PhD, in the areas of wholehearted living, vulnerability and shame resilience.) My greatest joy comes from helping clients work through or overcome relationship difficulties, walk through grief and loss in its varying forms, move through various life transitions, and build the resilience that will aid them in meeting future challenges.
My formal education includes an MA in Psychology from Houston Baptist University, an MBA from Rice University, and a BS in Business Administration from the University of Southern California. In addition to the various counselor trainings that are listed in my profile, I am also a Certified Life Coach.
I look forward to having the opportunity of getting to know you and sharing a piece of life’s journey!
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $60 to $90 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
