I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, licensed in Maryland. I have been in the "people business" for over 30 years and have during the last three years served in a psychotherapeutic role. My work in the federal government was heavy in conflict management, mediation, and promoting the psychological well-being of the workforce. I am also a husband, father, grandfather, and retired military veteran with several tours to various warzones. As a result, I have worked with clients in a wide variety of trauma-related issues, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. As a man of faith, active in my church, I recognize the strength that comes from having a firm foundation on which to stand.
My counseling approach is compassionate and I seek to understand the world as you see it. I believe in an empathetic, non-judgmental interaction that is designed to portray the utmost respect for you. I use an integrative style that combines cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, and psychodynamic counseling techniques. I am trained in several trauma-specific modalities which can be adapted for this environment. In the end, what you need matters most and I will make ever effort to meet your specific needs.
You've taken one of the hardest steps already by seeking support. I'd be honored to take the next steps with you.
I look forward to working with you.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $35 to $80 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
