More about me
MS, LMHC, LPC
Years in Practice: 9
I am a licensed mental health counselor in both Florida and Virginia with more than 8 years clinical experience. I have worked with a wide variety of individuals, to include; children, teens, adults, and families. I have worked within the nonprofit, private practice, and military sectors. My experience has allowed me to work with with clients not only with varying ages, but also with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, substance abuse/dependence, comorbidity, trauma, and parenting issues.
My counseling style involves meeting my clients where they are, as a warm and empathetic partner in the therapy process. I work together with the client to gain a better understanding of their individual experiences and beliefs and to then build a treatment plan that would be most effective for them. I utilize the techniques of cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, person-centered therapy, and solution-focused therapy to create a treatment experience that is going to best fit each individual client I work with.
I understand that it takes a lot of courage and can be intimidating to reach out to others for help, but I am here to assure you that together we can find a way for you to improve your situation, to accept yourself as you are, and to become the person that you are meant to be.
I look forward to working with you!
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $35 to $80 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
