Welcome and congratulations on taking your first step toward a happier life and lasting change.
My name is Lisa McKinney and I am family and marriage therapy licensed in the State of Florida and the State of Virginia with over 25 years of experience working as a psychotherapist in many different settings.
I have collaborated with clients in a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, sexual abuse, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, eating disorders, women’s issues, adoption, and infertility. I have also worked with the US Navy Crisis Response Team after service members experience trauma while deployed.
My therapy style is warm, interactive, positive, and infused with humor. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My theoretical perspective combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, family, strategic and solution focused interventions. We begin our journey building a strong therapeutic connection which will help us then identify clear treatment goals. This plan will act as our roadmap toward problem resolution.
It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling, happier life and to take the first steps toward that change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.
One last note, I am NOT a CRISIS COUNSELOR. I am unable to provide the type of support needed for crisis counseling at this time.
I look forward to working with you!
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $60 to $90 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
