More about me
Licensing: LCSW-C Years in Practice: 5 State: Maryland
Hello and welcome to BetterHelp!
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Maryland with over five years of experience working with a variety of populations, including people struggling with depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, postpartum mood disorders, and acute mental health crises. I graduated from University of Maryland, Baltimore with a clinical specialty with children and families and have spent time in child welfare, individual therapy, crisis assessment, group therapy, and the inpatient psychiatric hospitalization population. I have training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma therapy. I am looking forward to bringing you these modalities to our work together.
As far as my therapeutic style is concerned, I believe that you are the expert when it comes to directing the counseling services you want to receive and need. I will be warm, empathetic, and a support to help you address the issues that are bringing you to BetterHelp. I will always treat with you respect and make sure to validate your concerns and worries. I want you to guide me on how to support you and that is why we will develop a treatment plan together that will address the goals that you have for therapy.
I hope you are proud of the step that you have taken in helping your mental health and I look forward to getting to know you better.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
