More about me
Licensing: MSW, LICSW Years in Practice: 3 State: Rhode Island
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Rhode Island. I have a combined seven years of experience working with populations that include domestic violence survivors, outpatient psychiatry, older adults, and patients receiving hospice and palliative care. I am also experienced working with patients who have been diagnosed with chronic medical conditions, patients who are suffering from chronic pain, as well as their caregivers. I am well versed in methods that include, but are not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Life Review/Reminiscing Therapy, Mindfulness, Harm Reduction, and Trauma Informed Care.
My approach to therapy is to work one on one with each individual to determine their biggest concerns, get to the “root” of the issues, then to work in collaboration to find solutions. I believe in looking at the whole person and their environment to best develop tools that will facilitate long lasting change. I believe that in order for this to happen people need to feel seen, heard, and validated in a trusting relationship with the therapist. Everyone has the capacity for growth and change and it is my job to walk with you on that journey. I look forward to working with you!
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
