Hello and welcome! Thanks for taking a few moments to read about me. Whether you choose to work with me or another therapist, I hope you find your path to healing with BetterHelp. I have over ten years of experience as a licensed therapist in the state of Missouri. Most of this time has been spent working within a college setting as a college/career counselor, academic advisor and faculty member. I’m passionate about working with adults in transition to help them find their calling and purpose. I also have experience working in private practice. The majority of my experience is working with depression, anxiety, self-esteem and identity issues.
Building a collaborative relationship is important to me as I learn more about you and your story. When working with me, we will utilize tangible techniques that provide symptom relief while at the same time focusing on achievable goals. I use a cognitive approach to help my clients deepen their insights into unhelpful thinking patterns. I strive to be honest and genuine in my approach since I value the importance of the therapeutic relationship as a mechanism for change.
I’m so glad you are taking this next step towards feeling better. I truly feel it is an honor to walk alongside my clients on their journey towards growth.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $60 to $90 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
