Against all odds, I found a therapist who knew exactly what I am going through since he, himself, has gone through the very same thing. This thing is uncommon and rarely understood, including by professionals. I have gone through several therapists and almost gave up until I decided to try just one more therapist. Seriously, if one were to legitimately calculate the odds of this happenstance, those odds would be astronomically against its possibility.

This is my fourth time at therapy. Every time before each therapist focused on a specific issue I was dealing with at that time. It usually takes months to get to the crux of the issue and then start attacking it. This maybe due to time needed for the therapist to understand where I’m coming from and time for me to trust the therapist’s ability to help. For the first time, trust was established from day one. I need two things from my therapist. Display a comprehensive understanding of mental health and lower the facade of pleasantries, meaning be open to anything I say without judgment and respond with objective honesty. All we can do here is to “do the work”, and Benjamin has helped me to start doing just that.

Ben's a great guy. I don't even know where to begin with this guy because of how impressed I've been. He listens without judgement, provides constructive feedback, willing to admit when he's wrong, there for you and willing to do what it takes to show you that. If you're like me then you're probably hesitant to open up. I get it. It's scary. This guy, though, has your back and lets you be you. So, be you and he'll lend you an ear and some great advice.
I love how through Benjamin is in finding out the root cause and naturally solving the problem. I appreciate the fact that Benjamin takes the time to actually understand me as a person and know my background instead of going off of treating symptoms.
