More about me
Years in Practice: 11
Hi, my name is Ranisha Presbery and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) in the state of Virginia. I have a Masters of Social Work (MSW) degree as well as a Bachelors of Social Work (BSW) degree.
Making the decision to seek therapy can be hard but you have already made the first step. I know deciding to see a therapist can be scary but it can also be a rewarding and fulfilling journey. I would love the opportunity to take that journey with you.
My counseling style involves being warm, interactive and challenging. I believe in cultivating a safe and nonjudgmental environment where you can feel comfortable with sharing your thoughts and emotions. I believe that therapy should focus on processing your feelings as well as learning tools and skills to use whenever you are feeling disempowered.
I have been practicing independently as a clinical provider for almost 10 years. My therapy approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. My expertise does include working with individuals struggling with substance abuse issues as well as individuals that have had a hard time with building self esteem and confidence.
This was a big step for you and I am happy that you clicked on my profile. Let's get started today working on goals that will start to improve and enhance your life. I look forward to meeting you.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $35 to $80 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
