More about me
Years in Practice: 8
Hi! My name is Kristinne and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Virginia with 8+ years of experience working with individuals, groups, and families. I have worked in various settings such as private mental health organizations, non-profits, community services boards, as well as providing therapeutic services within school and home settings. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from James Madison University (Go Dukes!) and my Master’s Degree in Social Work at Virginia Commonwealth University (Go Rams!).
My passion is to empower others to be successful in all settings and chapters of life. I utilize trauma-informed care practices, cognitive-behavioral approaches, and implement solution-focused brief therapy when working with clients. Also, I strive to educate others about self-awareness, resiliency, and the importance of self-care.
I utilize person-centered approaches; therefore during our time together, you and I will determine what you would like to accomplish during our sessions. Also, you will find that I utilize a strength-based approach when working with clients. I cannot wait to hear about your strengths and the things you do best!
Our sessions will focus on identifying your goals and from there creating a step by step process regarding potential solutions. During our time together, you may just want to have someone listen and reaffirm some of your current thoughts and feelings, and I am there for those times as well. My hope is to help you get through a difficult time and leave our sessions feeling accomplished and empowered.
I am here to help you in any way possible and kudos to you for taking this step to seek out some help. You have already done the hardest part, which is getting started!
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $35 to $80 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
