More about me
Years in Practice: 12
It is here in the state of Virginia where I got my start. I am now licensed in the same state where I was born and raised. I have been counseling since 2007. My journey started as a volunteer counselor at a therapeutic day school. It was there where I was honored to encourage, support, and inspire kids, adolescents, teens, and parents. I was able to gain experience in depression, anxiety, parenting problems, relationship issues, school issues, ADHD and trauma. Since 2007, I have been honored to work as a counselor in the school setting, intensive in-home counselor, a mentor, as well as a clinical supervisor.
My style as a counselor stems from the client centered approach psychotherapy, Active listening skills, sensitivity, respect and a warm approach allow individuals to open up and express their feelings without being judged or criticized. It also allows me to understand the world through the client's view, which then in turns allows me to understand how to better assist the individuals. We will work together to build a treatment plan that works that works for you.
Congratulations on taking the first step to a happier you! I look forward to working with you.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $35 to $80 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
