My name is Dr. Lisa Clarke. I look forward to walking with you on your journey toward more excellent health and wellness!

I am a Doctor of Psychology and hold an LMFT licensure in Virginia and an LPC license in Idaho. I am a certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP). I have been in the helping profession for 20 years and have been licensed since 2015.

I am a U.S. military veteran. It has been my great pleasure to serve diverse racial, ethnic, and gender populations in civilian and military spheres.

My work spans across a wide range of issues to include anxiety, depression, adjustment to life transitions, prenatal education, postnatal depression in women, postpartum depression in men, parenting concerns, relocations, deployment, family-of-origin interference, interracial marriage and family concerns, incest survivor, grief and loss, social phobia, infidelity, communication issues, parent and adult-child estrangement, and self-esteem.

My integrative approach includes, but is not limited to, Adlerian theoretical approach which emphasizes “Encouragement” toward the enhancement of your human experience and success! I employ Solution-Focused therapy to guide us in searching for solutions. I also use Interpersonal Psychotherapy for improving and developing relationships as well as neurologically informed CBT techniques toward the goal of rewiring the anxious, worried, and panicked brain.

Dr. Clarke is hands down the most supportive and non-biased counselor I've ever had. I've had counselors ask me " why can't I just be happy." but you will never hear passive or negative comments from her. She's a teacher, shoulder and cheerleader and is highly recommended.

Dr. Clarke has been so amazingly helpful to me. She really listens to what I say and helps me identify the core of my struggles and offers realistic, helpful solutions for me to work on between sessions. Even after just the first session I felt hopeful, which I hadn't felt for some time. She put me at ease and was so non-judgemental and easy to talk to. We ended the session with a meditation which was so relaxing and was taylored to all of the things we talked about during the session. I felt so heard! I cannot recommend Dr. Clarke enough! She is truly helping me find my energy for life again!

Even with just 2 sessions with Dr. Clarke, I see a major improvement over my last therapist. She is timely and very professional. I appreciate her note taking and the fact that she reiterates what I need to work on the coming week. She listens closely to be able to help with that’s going on in your head, and most importantly, she is compassionate. I also like that since I want to take a mindfulness path of healing, she is on board to help support me in that. Looking forward to building a professional relationship with her as time goes on!
