More about me
Years in Practice: 10
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 15 years of experience in providing services to youth, individuals, and families. I have a great commitment to providing the highest standard of quality care and to contribute positive services that improve every individual’s quality of life. I attended Virginia Commonwealth University for undergraduate and graduate school. My undergraduate degree is in Psychology and my master’s degree is in Rehabilitation Counseling from VCU’s School of Allied Health Professions. It is an honor to continue to help the community and ensure that all individuals receive optimal care and service. My career experiences have given me a deep understanding of many of the issues in our community and their impact on individuals and families. I am passionate about contributing my skills and knowledge to those in the area.
As a therapist, I work with you to help you identify your desires and empower you to make those positive changes in your life. I understand that making the decision to seek help can be difficult, so I use an approach that is compassionate, direct, and non-judgmental to help create an environment where you feel supported in your counseling journey. I currently focus my practice on helping individuals, couples and families overcome anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, mental health and substance, relationship struggles, family changes, and parenting issues.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $60 to $90 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
