She typically responds in a timely manner and apologies/provides reason when there are longer gaps. She always asks questions that I’m able to give answers to rather than just venting about life. I get more excited when my therapist messages me than any boy

More about Stevie

Hello!

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Wisconsin with over 6 years of experience working as a psychotherapist. I am also a doctoral candidate, with one year left until I graduate with my Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, relational issues, parenting problems, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and gender and sexuality issues. I have also helped many individuals who have struggled with sex addiction, as well as their partners who have experienced betrayal trauma.

My therapeutic style is warm and collaborative. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and refrain from using stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and narrative therapy. However, I understand the importance of common factors and will work collaboratively with you to create realistic goals and plans to achieve them.

My educational and professional credentials include:

- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist - Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS #1367-124)

- Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy - University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV)

- Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) - International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP)

- Certified Clinical Partner Specialist (CCPS) - Association for Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists (APSATS)

- Parts and Memory Therapy (P&MT) trained

It takes a certain level of strength and courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the necessary steps towards change. If you are ready to take those steps, I am here to support you in that journey.

I look forward to working with you :)

It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. I've been working with Stevie for a few weeks now, and she's been amazing. She's very good at helping me put my thoughts together, and she's already helped so much in the short time we've worked together. She's so supportive, and understanding, I immediately felt like I could trust her. I gave her a lot of information in our first few days, and she chose what she felt was the most pressing issue currently to work on first, and she was definitely correct in doing that. I would absolutely recommend her to someone else for counseling, I think she's so great at what she does.

It's just been helpful to splurge my thoughts to a professional again. I don't feel like she's trying to pick at things that aren't there, or that she isn't invested in trying to help me. She's very curious, and when she asks about things it doesn't come off as stereotypical like "And how does that make you feel?". She's very deliberate in how she responds, which means something since we've only been able to message due to phone issues on my end. I plan on trying to do calls when my phone issue is resolved. It's still a little soon in my ordeal to tell if it's been great as a whole, but so far so good! Even by the end, I don;t see myself giving them anything below a 7.
