Judith has been a Godsend. I lost my mother very tragically and unexpectedly earlier this year and I do not know how I would have been able to weather this season of life without the support I have received from Judith. She hears me, validates me, and supports my journey to healing consistently. I leave every session feel better than before, even on the days, I don't feel up to counseling she always lightens my spirit by the time we end our session. She has experienced many hardships personally and allows those experiences to be the backbone for her guidance in my own grief. It makes it feel less lonely, in this journey to a new normal without my mother. Thankful beyond words for Judith and her heart for others.

More about me
Licensing: M. Ed. LPC SC Years in Practice: 31 State: Alabama
Hi! I received a Bachelor's Degree in Education/Biblical Studies from Southeastern Bible College (Birmingham, Alabama) and a Master's Degree in Agency & Community Counseling from the University of Montevallo (Montevallo, Alabama). I am also certified by the Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling as a Supervising Counselor to provide supervision for those seeking full licensure. I am a wife to my wonderful husband, Don. I have two children - a very loyal son and a daughter who now lives in Heaven - and three gorgeous granddaughters. I am a Christian and am active in my local church. I enjoy writing, cooking, reading, sewing, quilting, & playing with my grandchildren.
I have over 25 years experience in the Mental Health field, having worked in a variety of settings including private practice, intensive out-patient treatment for those with severe mental illness and chemical dependency, wilderness program for troubled teens, and outpatient services for children/adolescent/families issues. I have certification in Trauma Counseling. I work with all ages, regardless of sex, race, or economic status. I have provided in-home therapy for at-risk families, and have had extensive training in working with children/adolescents in multiple situations. Areas of specialty include: pre-marital/marital issues, chronic pain/illness, chemical dependency, family dysfunction, educational/ vocational attainment, dealing with trauma/abuse from the past, and grief & loss.
My goals in counseling are:
(1) to walk along the journey with someone to assist them in knowing who they are, and learning to like and accept who they are;
(2) to assist people in forming meaningful relationships, devoid of abuse or manipulation;
(3) to help people form short-term and long-term goals and to ascertain the steps needed to obtain those goals;
(4) to provide services in an atmosphere that fosters compassion and empathy in order to help the client feel safe and comfortable at all times.
I would count it a privilege to assist you in accomplishing your goals.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
