She is a wonderful listener and knows when to interrupt, give advice, refocus, or helps me to dig deeper into whatever I need to share. Mirna has tremendously helped me to reconnect with myself and has provided a safe place to explore that without judgement.

More about me
Licensing: LCSW Years in Practice: 7 State: California
Hola! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Southern California and I've been practicing for over 6 years. I received my master's from the University of Southern California in 2012. I specialize in Trauma-Informed Care, meaning that I recognize that people can have many different types of trauma in their lives from childhood or more recent that impacts their day to day life. I've worked in community-based organizations, with children, adolescents, adults and older adults dealing with depression, anxiety and various other mental health and emotional challenges related to unresolved trauma.
In my practice, I have found the best way to collaborate with people in their healing journey is to listen, be empathetic, remain objective and use a cognitive behavioral approach to reflect back patterns that could be contributing to unhappiness. My focus is strength based, recognizing the individual's ability to make positive changes through the therapeutic process. I also like to incorporate expressive arts into my practice as a form of healing from trauma. I believe that through creativity and encouragement we can activate a ripple effect of happiness in others and ourselves.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $60 to $90 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
