Thank you for visiting my page! I have ten years of therapy experience working in community based organizations, university settings, an inpatient addiction treatment center, and private practice. I am a licensed clinical counselor in Illinois and California and have worked with families, individuals, groups, and couples throughout my experience.
I believe strongly in guiding a client in discovering their own intuition and sense of self in order to inform where we go in therapy. I practice an integrative approach to counseling, drawing from many therapies including cognitive behavioral, narrative therapy, solution focused, emotion focused, motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic perspectives. I am formally trained in trauma focused CBT, motivational interviewing, general trauma-informed care, brief strategic family therapy, and many other specific interventions. I use a perspective that includes incorporating trauma experience- no matter how big or small- to see a client's need for healing. I like to consider all parts of a person's life and how each part moves to create the patterns of behavior or emotion that each person experiences. I adapt my mode of therapy to fit each client's unique experience and ways of hearing information. I use my framework to look at a myriad of issues that can arise in life; I have the most experience with stress/anxiety issues, family conflict, relationship issues, trauma/abuse issues, transitional stress, loss, and issues that can result from cultural stress or loss.
I look forward to hearing from you and am open to discussing how I can help or how we can find someone who can.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $60 to $90 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
