Hello! My is Saarika Rao, and I am a licensed clinical social worker in California. I received my Masters in Social Work from University of Southern California. I have had the opportunity to work with many individuals dealing with concerns including depression, anxiety, anger issues, grief and loss, trauma, substance abuse issues, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, career challenges, issues due to experiencing racism, and life transitions in addition to severe and persistent mental illness. I feel that as a therapist it is my responsibility to provide clients with an understanding environment in which they can grow and thrive.
The treatment modalities that I often utilize are Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Relaxation Techniques, reflective listening, validating feelings, among other modalities to ensure that you have the proper tools and insight to reach your goals. However, I feel that therapeutic services need to be catered to your specific needs and goals.
There is so much that a therapist can learn from a client as well, so it is my philosophy to never assume what a client is feeling or how they may have experienced or interpreted certain things in their life. For me, it is truly important to really listen without judgement as your journey and experiences are wholly your own.
I’m looking forward to working with you and helping you on your journey!
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $60 to $90 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
