I am a Spanish speaking Latinx therapist. My preferred pronouns are she, her, and hers. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of California. I received my master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California (USC). I currently work in a community mental health clinic and teach once a week as an adjunct professor. I have experience working in a variety of settings such as schools, medical clinics, and foster agencies. Most of my work revolves around working with young adults who have experienced adversities due to abuse, structural racism, social injustices, and immigration.
I am a survivor of complex trauma and learned to integrate my experiences into my life which led to my post-traumatic growth. I have explored structured individual therapy, groups, mindfulness, and other forms of therapy for myself. Therefore, I am aware that there is not one form of therapy for everyone, which is why I take an eclectic approach with my patients. I am a firm believer in unconditional positive regard while taking a strengths-based and solutions-focused approach.
I look forward to working with you and becoming a part of your support system.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $60 to $90 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
