This is my first time with a counselor, and Tyler has been so helpful so far. He genuinely cares and provided me with solutions to my anxiety and lack of sleep. He also responds to my messages and sometimes long rants in a timely manner, which I appreciate.

More about me
Licensing: MA, LMFT Years in Practice: 3 State: California
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California and have been in the counseling field for over eight years. I currently work as a Mental Health Clinician for a local government agency. I have also worked in various substance abuse treatment programs as well provided therapy for my local Pride Center. The clients I typically work with present with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, mood problems, trauma-related symptoms, substance use disorders, relationship problems, work related stress and many other presenting issues.
My counseling style is very client centered. I understand that every person is unique and so are the issues for which they may seek therapy. I have extensive training and experience using a Cognitive Behavioral approach but am well versed in may different therapeutic strategies. I like to be more Solution Focused and figure out the best way to directly address whatever issues you may be seeking therapy for.
I understand how difficult it can be to reach out for help and just want to say I am proud of you for taking this important first step.
I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with you.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
