More about me
Licensing: LMFT Years in Practice: 8 State: California
Hello, my name is Monica Adame. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California. I have been providing individual therapy services to adults within a county mental health setting for 7 years and to children in a school setting for 1 year. I work with individuals coping with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship/communication difficulty, grief and loss, life transitions, and feelings of overwhelm and low self-worth. Together we will practice identifying and challenging unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to negative feelings, improve communication skills, process difficult experiences such as grief and loss and trauma, and improve feelings of low self-worth.
I would describe my therapeutic approach as warm and empathic while empowering my clients to become the best versions of themselves. I meet my clients where they are and firmly believe that they are the experts in their lives. We will work collaboratively to discover strategies and solutions that work best for you.
I provide cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive processing therapy (trauma-focused), and interpersonal therapy (for grief and loss, role and life transitions, and relationship difficulty).
I look forward to working with you to help you heal, obtain insight for personal growth, and become the best version of you.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
