I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with extensive experience (20 years) in the field of mental health, providing supportive, insight-oriented and empowerment-based therapy in variety of settings including community clinics, schools and hospitals. My overall approach to assisting clients with reaching their therapy goals is centered on helping them enhance their healthy coping strategies, while strengthening their support system — in order to be able to work towards uncovering pathways to becoming more fully and freely themselves. I also specialize in trauma work and in processing of difficult experiences, in order to improve clients' sense of safety and relational security, which in turn can allow them to have agency, hope and confidence in working to remove barriers to their own health and wellness. I am committed to continuing to work with diverse clients, from various backgrounds and walks of life, who despite socio-political injustices both present and historic, and in the face of personal and inter-generational pain and trauma — possess such great strengths, including capacity to heal and restore their power, so they may lead fulfilling lives and have satisfying relationships.
