More about me

LCSW, PhD
Years in Practice:

After 45 plus years in the field , I continue to be active in my work and still enjoy it very much. I received my MSW in Clinical Social Work at the University of Washington in 1973 and earned a PhD in Child Psychology in 2011 from the Graduate Center for Child Development and Psychotherapy. My experience has been extensive. and varied. Primarily I am in private practice in Beverly Hills seeing adults, children, adolescents, couples and families. I have also conducted workshops and seminars, supervised interns, taught extension classes at UCLA, supervised Social Work Graduate students at USC , provided volunteer services at various places including with the Red Cross and Cedar Sinai Medical Center. Additionally I have participated in workshops in Sacrament to write and evaluate the LCSW Licensure examination. My theoretical perspective is psychodynamic which means that what is explored is both external and internal in relation to areas of concern. Problem areas that I have worked with include depression, anxiety, couples treatment, relationship issues, grief and loss, intimacy related issues and those of self-esteem. I am actively involved in the treatment process utilizing a relational approach in my work. I very much value the relationship developed between the client and myself.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $60 to $90 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
