More about me
Licensing: LCSW Years in Practice: 3 State: California
Hi, my name is Lydia and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has had years of experience working with diverse populations who deal with a wide variety of challenges with their daily life. Much of my experience includes working with people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, LGBTQ+ issues, chronic illnesses (HIV, diabetes, hypertension, cancer) substance abuse and the challenges in Central Valley of California.
Life has it's highs and lows and there will be times when those lows challenge us or keep us from our fullest potential. It doesn’t matter if your challenges are recent or longstanding, whether you want to work on improving your mood, your relationships, your abilities to cope with emotions, or you want to understand why you may feel stuck in a current situation, I would like to be there to help you through those times in your life. We all want to be able to share our personal truths, be accepted and understood while being our true authentic selves. It is a personal value of mine to be open-minded and non-judgmental when someone shares their personal story or experiences with me.
I can interact with you in whatever platform you are most comfortable with. While I find it beneficial l to participate in video sessions, I am also available to you via phone and text if that is more comfortable for you. A majority of my availability is in the evenings and on the weekends but I check messages at least once during each weekday.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
