I am a licensed marriage and family therapist with over 20 years of counseling in various settings. I have worked with troubled teens and their parents, individuals, families and couples. Although, I have been counseling professionally since my undergrad in 1990, I started counseling from the kindergarten playground, always desiring to assist with finding solutions to life's woes. Some of the areas of concern that I have addressed include depression, HIV/AIDS, adolescent concerns, anger, anxiety, family conflict, loss, blended families and many other areas of concern that affect families.

My counseling style is very welcoming and interactive. I believe in empowering the client and not making them feel judged. I remind myself that when working with a client I may be the only person in their life capable of both hearing and holding their pain, I don't take that for granted.

When I was looking for a therapist, I was in such bad place mentally, that I couldn't choose a therapist myself. I just prayed God would send me who I needed-and He sent LaTravia. And I needed her. And she has helped me immensely. She has helped me with nightmares, PTSD, forgiveness, and moving on. I am in a much better mental space now. It's such a relief. And I'm so grateful.

LaTravia is wonderful. Judgement free but still honest and truthful. She cares and it's obvious.

LaTravia is AMAZING!!! I recommend her 100%! She listens when I need to talk and gives real advice. She understands my wants and needs and is brutally honest in the kindest way. She makes me feel like I’m talking to a friend rather than a therapist. I look forward to my sessions with her.

She has really been a great help to me, and allowed me to have a safe place to express myself without judgement. It’s great to have her as a resource for my personal growth and im truly grateful for the changes that have been happening in my life.

LaTravia has been a positive beacon in a room that does not feel so bright at times. She is able to navigate interweaving stories and is able to shift focus on the real issues while giving steps to resolve it. She does an amazing job explaining her rationales and her observations with metaphors and relatable stories to paint the picture in neon colors. She is honest and encouraging and you cannot ask for much more than that.

LaTravia has a great personality that I could connect with instantly. She is extremely knowledgeable and attentive. She both encourages, equips, and challenges me to overcome my struggles with a faith based biblical approach (exactly what I was looking for).

LaTravia is great!

My therapist has gotten me through some really dark periods in my life. My husband’s cancer diagnosis, the empty nest syndrome, and other life situations. She has helped me to see how my child hood has shaped how I react to life situations. And that has been a blessing to me, because it has allowed me to change some things in my life that was unhealthy. I am now more aware when I revert back to negativity and then I have to work my way back peace. My Therapist is very caring, patient, and she makes me laugh at times. But most of all now I can examine my self and see life and situations from a healthy lens.

A true light! LaTravia seen me, listened to me and guided me through this portion of my healing journey with such love, kindness and grace! I was challenged, held accountable, given grace, and celebrated on my brightest day and most importantly during what I defined as my darkest hours! I was always being affirmed, encouraged and supported! Given reality checks when necessary and it was always done with a kind heart and understanding ear. Each session I was welcomed with open arms! I never felt judged! My boundaries , and spirituality were respected through and through. Every time we met it felt like I was on a FaceTime call with my Auntie giving me the game on life, mental, physical, emotion, and spiritual wellness! Of course I welcomed and wanted this type of relationship with my therapist so as she made me comfortable to set the tone of the relationship I wanted with her I believe it’s safe to say I made her comfortable to be open and free for us to both to have such a free flowing, authentic and organic connection! She’s adaptable, mindful, a great listener, and truly a divine guidance! Healing takes a community & LaTravia for me was my community and I hope she’ll become yours as too! Happy healing! :)

I was connected with a counselor prior to meeting Ms. Williams and I just didn’t feel a connection. However once I was partnered with Ms. Williams she understood me and really helped get to the root of my issues and help me through a divorce. She is absolutely amazing.
