More about me
Years in Practice: 3
Hi and welcome to BetterHelp! My name is Melissa and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with almost a decade of experience working with many diverse populations including child and adolescent, adult, older adult, military and their families. I have helped numerous people overcome difficult challenges including: depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief and loss adjustment disorder, and self-esteem issues.
I am passionate about helping others find peace and balance in their lives (because we all know life can get crazy at times!). My overall style is genuine, empathetic, and solution-focused. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help my clients be aware of their thought and emotions to help improve the way they feel overall. I utilize Strength-Based Therapy when appropriate to help clients focus on their inner strengths during times of struggle. I believe that understanding how our bodies function and process everything, including diet, exercise, and even meditations can help us be our best self.
I am invested in helping you find your peace, in whatever way that may be. I am here for you.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $35 to $80 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
