The first step is usually the hardest. Each following step gets easier if you trust the process. Congratulations on that first step to read through this introduction.

I began my journey in therapy 17 years ago as an Addictions counselor. Addiction can take many forms, not only in alcohol or drugs, but gambling, pornography and other sexual addictions. Progressing into Marriage and Family therapy, I worked with our military members and their families in marriage counseling and also helping individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, and other mental health concerns. Your story is unique to you but not to my education and experiences.

There are many approaches to a better life. What works for one person may be different than the next. My extensive experience and training will find the approach that works with you. My main approach is Client-centered where I meet your needs where you are. I am not here to make you make changes but to find a path that I can help you navigate.

I have had a successful career with the military as a retired member and full-time therapist. I began my career in the US Navy, 20 years retired working as a therapist. I then continued my following with the US Army. Let us walk this journey together to find a better you.

Online counseling allows you to receive care from a mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.

Jan is like a friend you can vent to and talk to and you won't notice the time passing by. Before you know it, the hour is up because the conversation flows so easily and you find yourself having many things to talk about. Jan makes you feel very comfortable and at the same time has professional insights that are eye-opening. He is an attentive listener and you can sense his passion for helping people. I would recommend Jan for any first time therapy customer who is nervous to start.
