More about me
Licensing: LMHC Years in Practice: 14 State: Georgia
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida for past 14 years. I have a background working in the emergency crisis setting as well as most recently in private practice. This experience has provided me the opportunity to work with all backgrounds of people ranging from addiction to geriatric. More specifically I am most experienced with depression, anxiety, emotion regulation, self-esteem building, grief and loss, and adjusting to life changes. I also have experience working with family conflict and family therapy. In addition, I have worked with a number of people that have suffered with Bipolar or Schizophrenia.
My approach to therapy is compassion and understanding. I like a caring environment that does not treat a person based on their labels but on the symptoms that are interfering with the daily functioning. The mode of therapy I like to utilize most is cognitive behavioral therapy. I combine this with rational emotive therapy, reality therapy, and mindfulness. I like to provide a humanistic approach; the goal being for the person to emphasize their true selves. I will tailor the goals of therapy to the specific needs of the client.
It takes courage and strength to look within yourself to provide the necessary changes to a more content and fulfilling life. If you are ready to embark on this challenge, I will be here to support, facilitate, and encourage you along the way. I look forward to meeting with you.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
