Hello,
My name is Stephen Martell, and I am a Licensed Practicing Counselor in Georgia. I truly enjoy helping people work through some very tough moments in their lives in order to see them learn, grow, and live . Some specific areas that I may be of the most help to you could be adjusting to changes like job and relationship changes. I may also be able to help you with concerns regarding anxiety, depression, communication skill development, interpersonal skill and relationship development, as well as self-esteem development and maintenance.
My approach to therapy could be described as relaxed and built on the therapeutic relationship we mutually create. I believe that your trust in me and the rapport that we develop are paramount to the success you experience. I see myself as a person-centered counselor and collaborator with you on your journey to help you reach your goals. I pull ideas and interventions from Solution-Focused therapy, Cognitive Behavioral, and Reality Therapy, as well as Narrative and Motivational Interviewing. I believe in helping you shine a light on your strengths, abilities, and skills so that you reach the goals that you decide upon and set.
I believe that therapy is a professional, mutually respectful relationship, that is conducted collaboratively, and in a non-judgmental way. Lastly, I believe that you are the expert in your life and believe that you have the skills needed to reach your goals.
I look forward to helping you along your journey!
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $60 to $90 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
